SCN Top 50 Systems Integrators of 2020

Systems Contractor News presents the top 50 systems integrators of 2020. Due to COVID-19, this is the first year we did not require integration firms to give a specific annual revenue; instead, this year’s Top 50 list is based on a three-year average of revenue. We know the industry has been hard hit, but we want to celebrate our successes and emphasize how firms overcame (and are still overcoming) challenges.

The past year has been incredibly unusual for many reasons, but perhaps the most significant and detrimental is the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world. Our lives were upended over a few short weeks in March and April and we have yet to reach an equilibrium. Nevertheless, AV professionals persisted. From a boom in UCC technology to rethinking the entire live events business, this industry pivoted and innovated like never before.

CSX Operation Control Center

CSX Operation Control Center

Project: CSX Operation Control Center

CCS Southeast designed and installed the solution.

The GSO Conference Room is the control center for the entire system. Surrounding the Conference Room is a monitoring and logistic center with twenty-nine 65” displays mounted around the perimeter of the room at a 10-degree tilt, side by side. CSX’s proprietary rail monitoring software provides detailed information on each display, utilizing the reliable and scalable AV over IP solution from Crestron NVX.

The “room within the room” is the GSO’s Conference Room, which is surrounded by glass on 3 of 4 walls. A 86” wall mounted display serves as the primary presentation display for any room participants. In addition, there are four 24” monitors surrounding the GSO’s seat, two (2) of which are integrated into the height adjustable desk and retractable when in use. From here, the GSO has total control of this system on a 15” touch panel – he can select and present any source (30) to any display (5) within the Conference Room. He can also initiate and manage an audio conference call. Installed in the ceiling are two (2) motorized retractable Clock Audio tri-element microphones which provide optimum coverage for in-room participants.

Project Components

  • Creston NVX
  • Samsung Q-Series 65 inch displays
  • Clock Audio Microphones

One of the company’s recent innovations is its QuickMedia® transport technology, which helps to streamline presentation system design and simplify installation by integrating 16 separate cables into a single CAT5-type wire. True HD video, with balanced and unbalanced line and mic-level audio and high-resolution computer signals gets delivered over the QuickMedia single cable.

Crestron points to the efficiency of QuickMedia being the perfect integration for multimedia presentations in lecture halls, boardrooms, banquet halls and auditoriums. Simply put, QuickMedia works. It’s among the best integration equipment we’ve seen, even when faced with an array of AV sources, multiple computer inputs and several input locations, with multiple displays including plasmas, projectors and LCD monitors with sound reinforcement and program audio outputs. For installed setups, Crestron offers the QuickMedia Wizard to help users with a fast and simple programming and system configuration.

Another facet of Crestron’s service offerings is its MediaManager presentation solutions, which help save costs to organizations. It acts as a lower-cost presentation solution that uses QuickMedia technologies to save integrators cabling costs, and significantly reduce installation time and money.

Target customer segments are education, government/military, and/or corporations. We have all the top brands (e.g. Epson, NEC, SMART, AMX, Crestron, Extron, BlueJeans, Cisco, LifeSize, Polycom and numerous others) at the best cost basis due to our national buying power, and we offer one of the most lucrative compensation plans in the industry for the successful salesperson. Successful AV industry experience or experience selling IT, copier, phone, or other technical equipment would be a big plus, but we are willing to train a good inside sales person on everything they need to know about the technical aspects of our industry. We would also show particular interest in anyone who has gone thru the Enterprise Rental Car management training program. We’re searching for full-time candidates but would consider a part-time position in the right situation.
