CCS eNews – November Program Launches

CCS Southwest Presents – CCS HEALTH

CCS Health is a market-specific educational program for our clients in the healthcare industry, seeking the latest and greatest audio visual products and applications for their healthcare facility. Serving clients in Arizona, this program was launched to better the quality of healthcare being offered at existing facilities, as well as assist architects and engineers in specifying the best AV systems available for new healthcare facilities being planned today.

The program includes educational materials and Tech Talks, which are on-site educational sessions that help our clients understand the best products to meet their facility’s unique telecommunications and audio visual needs, while introducing the technical side of product choice through application demonstration and case study data. Learn from what progressive facilities are doing to better their patient experience and implement those successes in your own.

CCS Mid-Atlantic – UMUC Executive Conference Room

CCS is designing a new digital AV system for the UMUC Executive Conference Room. The main point for this design bid was a 3 x 3 NEC Video wall system using the new Chief ConnexSYS Video wall mounting system. The video wall consisted of (9) 46” NEC LED displays. The Chief ConnexSYS system made the installation of the video wall simplified and easy to add cables once it was hung, and provided simple trouble shooting. The Digital AV system consisted of a Extron IN1608 for switching, Clearone Converge Pro 880T with a Beamforming Microphone array, Shure SLX wireless microphone for local voice reinforcement during presentations, Vaddio AV Bridge with a Roboshot camera CCU system for Skype and WebEX calls, Barco Click Share system, and local AV inputs from the conference room table. The control system is an Extron IPCP 505 with a TLP720TV touch panel and Apple IPAD control mimicking the touch panel layout. Next Steps: CCS was contracted by UMUC to add a SMART Kapp system to allow local users to take notes and collaborate better during meetings. This is scheduled for installation later this fall.

CCS Mid-Atlantic – A power company with a powerful vision of staying up to date.

CCS was tasked with a design build concept for a new field office building for a local power company subsidiary. CCS provided an AV design for the new conference room, lab and kitchen area. The conference room consisted of a Sharp 80” TV with inputs from the conference table. The inputs at the table included the Extron Teamwork Digital solution with the “Show Me Cables” to allow users to be more interactive with the TV display, and their meetings more functional for collaboration amongst each other. CCS used an Extron XPA 2001 audio amplifier with 4 Community D8 speakers to allow for audio throughout the conference room. The speakers were centered over the table per customer’s request. Along with the conference room, CCS installed a Sharp 80” TV in the LAB training room with a local wall plate for instructor use and CCS installed a Sharp 32” TV in the break room to provide INSTANT NEWS updates for the employees at the site.

Contact your local CCS location to learn more about conference room upgrades and the power that enhanced communications and efficiency has on productivity and success!

Hitachi Offers Up Two New Projectors for Use in Schools and Business

Our CCS manufacturing partner Hitachi America recently unveiled two new projector models that offer audio-visual solutions to business users in schools, companies, government offices and entertainment venues. Hitachi expanded its Interactive projector lineup by introducing the Hitachi CP-TW3003 and the CP-TW2503, two bright projector models that offer improved image quality, wireless networking and flexible connectivity.

The two models are designed to work in corporate or academic environments. The  CP-TW3003 (3,300 lumens of brightness) and the CP-TW2503 (2,700 lumens) both offer three USB inputs for use with a USB memory stick, wireless adapter or mouse plus component, composite video, audio and mic A/V jacks. Users can connect computers or smartphones wirelessly to the projectors for seamless presentations. They’re also good in wired environments, as both models have computer monitor and audio outputs.

The projectors’ features help meet the growing interactive needs of users working in K-12, higher education, and corporate business environments. With easy installation and calibration, the CP-TW3003 and CP-TW2503 provide vibrant image quality with cost-effective operation, while producing large images in small spaces. Among the exciting new features in this line include

  • A sophisticated, innovative technology that utilizes 3 chips to deliver vibrant, true-to-life and consistent images for the most demanding audiences.
  • A hybrid filter that lasts longer than conventional filters. This extension in maintenance intervals reduces the overall cost of ownership significantly.
  • interactivity among several displays and several pen markers at the same time.

Hitachi and CCS Presentation Systems have worked diligently throughout the year to provide customers with audio-visual solutions. Since announcing the partnership in the early part of 2014, CCS has been able to provide incredible projector solutions to all of our higher education, corporate and government customers.

Digital K12 Classroom Solutions at InfoComm 2014

Among the many exciting innovations seen at the recent INFOCOMM 2014 in Las Vegas are the K12 classroom-based audio-visual solutions. Essentially, all the moves going forward are about interactivity. K12 classroom educators know that without classroom interactivity, it’s hard to keep kids’ driven and motivated. It’s urgent for classroom educators to know how to engage kids with the right interactive classroom tools from digital manufacturers.
And that’s what was on display at InfoComm 2014. According to a recent article in K-12 Tech Decisions, K12 students more and more are expecting school technology to match their own tech tools at home. Whether it’s Dad’s Chromebook or Mom’s iPad that they are used to using, students expect the same within their classrooms.

School educators are responding to this demand. The schools that CCS Presentations Systems sees on a regular basis are updating not only their digital equipment systems, but also modernizing their teaching methods to focus on how to combine digital collaboration and media interactivity. On the whole, if a school project can be more interactive for students, the learning curve can also be easier.

At InfoComm, Samsung showcased its Samsung School interactive learning solution that combines Samsung tablets, learning software displayed on an interactive display and a wireless printer. Using the system enables teachers the ability to distribute content to student displays and monitor the screens of student devices to make sure everybody is on track. Here’s a video that shows more from the recent BETT world interactive technology show.

AMX Control Systems Profiled for White House Audio-Visual Technologies

A recent profile in AVNetwork Magazine on how government technology managers and end users communicate featured a look inside the  White House Situation Room. Within its heavy artillery of communications software was a look at the integrated systems of our manufacturing partner AMX.

According to the article, the White House frequently uses the AMX technology and its  Modero Touch Panel technology (pictured) to allow different users connected to the system to control microphones, cameras and monitors in the given location.

Videoconferencing has come a long way, not only in business and social circles, but in government environments as well. IP technology has grown in recent years, and video conferencing carriage costs had dropped, according to the article. With the growth in sophisticated equipment, today there is very little to separate audio-visual solutions in IT. One tech director noted that AV is a critical, budgeted area for any IT department.

Having that A/V integration in government budgets is a sign of its growing need for greater communication practices within military command chains. There are real opportunities for military agencies all over the country to use videoconferencing as a strategic planning tool.
If videoconferencing is in your list of 2013 to-dos for your government agency or organization, look to CCS Presentation Systems. CCS works with corporate, government and education clients with needs in full-service integration, installation, maintenance and training of audio and video equipment. Among the specific installations handled by CCS include:
– LCD & plasma displays
– digital projectors
– interactive whiteboards
– room control systems
– audio systems
– high definition videoconferencing systems< Today, CCS is one of the largest A/V integrators in the U.S. with more than 350 employees, sales offices in 13 states and annual revenue in excess of $115 million. CCS was recently ranked by Systems Contractor News as one of the nation’s top audio visual integrators, by Commercial Integrator as the No. 1 audio visual integrator for the hospitality industry.
